Hello gents.
I am starting to organize the event this year and really want to gather a high quality group of young pitchers this year. Last year's event had some time issues so I worked those out to make this whole event last 2 hours this year. I am basically inviting kids to show up at 1 of 2 times to be ready to go in a group. It will cut down on the lag time.
In terms of recommendations if you are a parent that wants to nominate your son I will need a list of 2 or 3 coach references. Last year there were too many pitchers that struggled to get into the upper 70's. I can't stress enough I want pitchers who consistently are in the 80's on a legit gun. I haven't placed a limit on this free event, but I'd rather have 10 high quality pitchers that really interest colleges than 25 pitchers of questionable appeal.
Not trying to be a jerk, just want to make this event worth it for colleges. So here is basically what I am looking for:
1. Freshmen-Junior year
2. Minimum 80 mph on legitimate gun
3. G.P.A that puts them on college track

If you want to email me you can reach me at: bdemas@londonderry.org

I've never run an event like that but you may want to bypass the parents and just get a list of quality pitchers from coaches you trust. If you know a scout, ask him. He'll know who all the harder throwers are. Then you can contact the players directly. I think if a player is contacted directly, the player and the parents will be more flattered and might be more willing to participate.
Just a thought.
Good luck with it!

The date is set for June 25th at LHS. So far there are over 30 colleges that say they will be there, but that number usually goes up on the day of. The format is set up so we will get all the arms in within 2 hours. I will be sending out another wave of invites once I get focused on the event. Right now I am putting the finishing touches on the Junior Games!

I would like to invite anyone who reads this forum to come down to get a good look at some of the high quality arms.

The event is this Tuesday. First pitch thrown at 1, catcher pop times at 12:45. If parents or just people who are interested to watch come down please respect the college coaches trying to do their thing. You will not be allowed to sit behind the backstop with them. Yes, people have tried in the past! There is seating on the sides, plenty for everyone!

thank you to Coach Demas for organizing this great event yesterday.  I was especially impressed with the list of NE colleges that followed through and actually attended the showcase. This type of exposure is invaluable and one more important piece of the process as the boys get evaluated in hopes of playing at the next level.  It was a very hot day, the scouts must have been melting by the conclusion.  I think I heard him mention that he may start the event earlier in the day in the future, which is a great idea.

It was a great event and everyone involved should be thanking Coach Demas and others involved in making it happen.  Scouts melting?  Lol, how about the four kids who caught in full gear the entire event, bullpens and on the field.  That's melting.  I'm kidding by the way, they are young and they got a lot of benefit from the day as well I'm sure.  Thanks to all, including all the scouts who attended.

Running a baseball camp this week, but the velocities will be up soon! Just need a little time....

Good event and looking to make it bigger next year. Hopefully I can talk some of the elite AAU program coaches into working around the date a little bit as I am sure they would not encourage a kid to turn this kind of opportunity down. If you know one of those coaches please feel free to give my email: bdemas@londonderry.org

and I would welcome a chance to work with them in coordinating a date next year.

HERE ARE VELOCITIES WITH AVERAGES. The gun used was a Stalker 2 gun and was calibrated before the event. The conditions were hot and humid and the event went off without a hitch.

Thank you and enjoy!
