Had the privilige of watching the LI championship game yesterday between Massapequa and East Islip...what a thrilling game as undefeated MA down 4-0 in the btm of the 6th and held in check most of the day breaks out big time with a 3 run HR to cut lead to 4-3... EI tacks on another run in the top of the 7th to go up 5-3. MA up btm 7th...runner on 1st one out and kid hits what appears to be game ending double-play giving EI the championship but the kid busted his arse down the line and beats the return throw to 1st to keep the season alive...2 outs next kid up BANG...game tying 2 run homer which sends game to extra innings....I never saw kids/parents jump so high...what a scene. EI doesn't score in the top of the 8th.... MA up btm 8th...BANG again...game ending - championship winning walk off homer....One hellava game as MA advances to the states.
