Its an Evangelical school which is fine but I would think it does impact recruiting positively and negatively. With Jerry Falwell as Founder conservative is going to be the motto. As far as stuffy conservative or not thats for others to decide. A Beautiful campus with a different type of College social experience from say Virginia Tech.

Founded in 1971, Liberty University is the world’s largest evangelical university, with over 20,000 students both on-campus and off-campus from all fifty states and over seventy countries around the world. We are committed to providing our students with the highest quality education in a distinctly Christian environment.
It has all the necessary ingridents in place for a baseball player to go there and improve.

Nice outdoor cagesw/ lites and 2 nice indoor cages as well. Nice playing surface and a nice back drop for a college field. Doesn't have lights but has the Carolina League facility 5 miles away. State of the art training facililties for the players to improve running times and help with physical gains.

New staff that has some young asst. with energy. Plenty of resources to be a consistent competitor at the top of the Big South and a chance at a NCAA Regional on a yearly basis.

A great place to go to school and a great place to live. But even more important its a great place to go be a Freshman All Amaerican because if your talented you will play everyday even as a Freshman.

Is Bear a "she"? Must be some piece of work.

FYI, Bear, I know exactly what you're talking about and it's just the kind of ATTEMPT at a cheap shot that I was chiding you for, so thanks for proving my point.

For those who don't know, Bear was referring to the fact that Midlo Son's name does not appear on the Louisville Slugger list.

The reason for that is that Midlo Son only got to pitch healthy for half a season last year, due to an injury. After a strong first half (5-0, 0.24) he was out several weeks, tried to return but was not at his best, then aggravated the injury and had to shut down. He missed the summer doing a rest and rehab program and has fully recovered at this point. This particular AA honor stresses in-season performance, so he didn't have the numbers from 2007 that they were looking for.

My attitude is, not to worry, he's gotten his due and then some in many other places.

I was very happy to see our pal and teammate Austin Stadler get recognized on this list -- well deserved and too long in coming, if you ask me. You will note that I published this news in a separate thread last week.

Bear, what really shows your true colors is not only that you are so petty, but that you assume everyone else is, too. Obviously you thought you would be striking a nerve at my end. Sorry to disappoint you. Instead, you just made me think of how miserable a person you must be to think you were scoring some kind of zinger points. Very, very sad indeed.

EXACTLY what I was referring to...and why my comment was only directed at the most recent 5 year period. Those DP teams had a coaching staff that was hard to beat.
