Wow. Just got back from watching one of the most dominating pitching performances I've ever witnessed. 2 hit complete game shutout with 14 Ks. And if Buster Posey didn't solidly present his Rookie of the Year credentials tonight, I don't what he needs to do - 2 hits, including a 400 blast off the CF wall, his first SB and scoring the game winner. Go Giants!

He also has handled himself behind the plate well for a first year catcher too.

For those of you who are not Giants fans, one of the concerns that was being expressed when the Giants brought him up was how that pitching staff would take to having a rookie catch them, instead of Bengie Molina. Molina, by all counts, did a superb job of working with that staff, and many didn't think Posey would be able to work with them as well as Bengie did.

Well, now that the Giants have the lowest staff ERA in all of MLB, I guess that concern has been answered, hasn't it! The Giants starters have taken to Buster Posey very enthusiastically. I don't know if it is his great catch and throw skills, or his offense, but he (along with a few other mid-season moves like signing Pat Burrell) is why we're still watching the Giants.

Lots of Giants fans are talking about Buster Posey in a different vein than Rookie of the Year. More like Most Valuable Giant.

But, EVERY team would be glad to have Jason Heyward too. Posey and Heyward are both quite good, and we should all realize what an unusual year it is to have as many good candidates for ROY as this year has presented, especially in the NL. The AL pretty much looks like Neftali Feliz, I'm thinking.

What ever happened to Tim Beckham?[/QUOTE]

The same year they had the number one pick they also went to the World Series, how amazing is that!

Haven't missed too much on their number one picks, not sure that they needed a player who was close to ML.

Tim Beckham, only 20 years old, played for the high A team of the FSL this past season, Charlotte Stone Crabs. That's pretty young for a league that most likely has majority of players 23-25.
It was great to see other people notice that the Giants are having a great time. They have been like this all year.
Only problem is Timmy needs to be a little more aware of the cameras, this is the second time he dropped the "F" bomb on National T.V in a week. Now he holds the team record previously held by Will Clark.

Got to love these Guys, "TORCHER IS GIANT BASEBALL"
Tim was jumping around like a little kid. It was really great to see that he still has that joy in him. This series really has showcased some of the things Posey can do. Hasn't been a great series for Heyward but that doesn't mean anything in the long run. A kid named DiMaggio made a couple of errors in his first All-Star game and I heard he turned out to be a fair player.
