Anybody have any experience with the Linfield College program?

We've had some very nice exchanges with Scott Brosius, who seems like a really class guy and great coach, at least  from a distance. His interest seems real.   Though my son still has aspirations of playing D1, personally  Linfield is fast becoming my own dream school for him both academically and athletically..  Can't substitute my desires for his, though.   How much do you try to influence your son's thinking on this score, by the way?

I have never had dealings with him, but I can tell you this is regularly one of the best programs in D3. They regularly win the pool A bid for the conference and are always a good bet to win the regional.

My son dreamed of D1 as well but as he visited schools and weighed options eventually when a D1 did come in late in the process and wanted to see him pitch, and that they may have a walk on spot for him, he kindly declined. He liked his options and wanted to go to a small school after several visits to small d3 colleges.

I do not know that you can or should sway him but present the facts and get him onto some of the campuses and if he gets a chance to visit he should.

Go over to http://D3baseball.com and Http://d3boards.com. there is a lot of info over there about D3.

Good luck in your sons search.

Consistently one of the top D3 baseball programs in the country. My son has played them twice in Regionals in the past two years and we have been to Linfield for Regionals twice in the past three years. I do not have specific information regarding the program but the school seems to have a very nice layout, great facilities, and next to McMinnville, a small town with a nice downtown area where I imagine kids go to hang out from time to time. Coach Brosius handles himself with dignity and respect for the game. His teams are usually one of the best we see every year and they are usually the best coached teams. (as you would expect for former National Champions) If you want to play baseball at a high level, regardless of D 1,2,3 Linfield would be an excellent choice.
