The goal is to show an entire showcase, workout, games, everything. It is intended for scouting purposes, but could be very educational for younger kids and their parents. It might answer some questions about how showcases, at least PG showcases are run.

This event is very high level regarding talent. 22 players that were at last year's PG National were drafted in the 1st round and supplemental 1st round. Another 11 1st round picks out of college had attended this event when in high school. So the talent level is as high as it gets and that too might help talented younger players see what they need to work on to reach that level.

The event is live and everything is archived for looking at later. There is no cost involved. The response from yesterday has been great. We've had much feedback from family and friends of the players here and people interested in recruiting and scouting that were unable to attend. That includes coaches that are in Omaha preparing for the College World Series.

Looks like everyone is using wood bats. Is that required?

MidAtlanticDad,

Every showcase we have ever held is strictly woodbat. However at this event Rawlings sponsors a Metal bat Home Run contest. That too will be available for viewing. It's pretty entertaining and sometimes amazing. We have had a couple guys reach the upper deck at the Metrodome during BP with a wood bat.
