Saw this article and it was great to read. Heading to the Cape for a few Falmouth Commodore games over the next couple of weeks...hope we get good weather!
I spent a week there watching my son and several of his college team mates play. We had a great time, except for a staph infection I picked up and hurricane Albert, who was a pain in the tush the last night we were there. I'm still trying to shake that stupid infection after 2 weeks. If I made it this long, I'll live.
Baseball on the Cape is baseball in its absolute purist form, no admission, players trying to impress scouts, lots of little kids running around, lots of old guys asking if any of the kids go to their alma marta, etc. Great talent on substandard fields, just playing ball as best they can. The 50/50 drawing after the 7th is the queue for everyone to leave, doesn't matter if its 2-1 or 13-0. Bug spray was a premium item, you could get big bucks for it. I had a blast.
I hope my son signs up again for next year in case the draft thing doesn't work out. I would love to go back.
TPM yes he is we are going back up next week to stay a little longer......what a great experience for him and us!!!
Will do!
