Where are some of the showcases that your son's team will be attending this summer?
Are there any good local (Dallas) showcases? When I say local I mean as far away as Waco.

PG has one this coming summer, I seem to remember is in Waco.

Yeah, I looked at that thread and it really wasn't as informative as I would have liked. There seemed to be more banter than anything else. Not that that is bad or anything. I just thought I could get more response this way.
Do people not want to share this info or is it that people don't know where they are going yet? I figured I would get more response than I have. Just trying to see where the good local showcases are at.
Ringer1 -- I think most families are focusing on preparation for the HS season. The fall showcase season wrapped up a few weeks ago. There are college camps during winter break -- a few kids I know just got back from OU.
Just to be completely clear, are you asking about team showcases or individual showcases?
Most select teams don't put out their schedules until much closer to summer. Although some go to largely the same tournaments every summer.

Team showcases. I just figured the coaches have told the parents where they were going this summer.

My experience with team showcases is that there usually aren't a lot of coaches who attend them. My son played for DBAT this fall and we attended showcases at Baylor, A&M, & DBU and you could count on 1 hand the total number of coaches and/or scouts at each event. My belief is that you will get much more out of individual showcases than the team ones.
The colleges that run their own showcases where the coaches participate in instruction is a different story. Those are well worth your time and money I would think.

OP, you are so right, the events this fall were a disappointment. Mainly, I feel like we were misled regarding what to expect when we went to one of these events. I am trying to come up with a solution for next fall...it will require less travel but approximately same money.

OP is correct IMHO the individual showcases we went to had a few more college coaches there this summer and fall. U of H was a good showcase IMHO there were coaches there from SHSU, SAN JAC, A&M, and Galveston College. It was a pretty good turn out
