IMO....

Both highly desireable schools. Neither is a top flight academic school, ie Stanford, Cal, UCSD..but as they offer sun, beach,...and as they are relatively inexpensive state schools they get lots of applications....SDSU is particularly hard to get into, Long Beach may be more doable academically. Both more difficult for baseball. Long beach is a perennial National power...SDSU is a top end DI who does most of their recruting in the SOCal area.

Huge baseball area...Tons of Jc's who play very high end ball..Long Beach CC, San Diego CC....Very good DII ball...UCSD... Very good DIII ball in the area with Chapman, Redlands,...as well as NAIA ball, Pt Loma Nazarene...

I would get on the computer and start kicking around. Find a school, go to the baseball program look at the results...go to an opponents school....You'll get the idea...

Cool 44
The biggest knock i've heard about these schools from an acadmic standpoint is that they are very over crowded -impacted as noted above-so certain majors are closed, classes are tough to get. 5 year track pretty much (if you're lucky).

Top flight baseball programs and as noted above, SoCal has an abundance of excellent JuCo programs, d-2 and d-3 and of course a great number of other d-1s.
