Is throwing into a fence a good alternative for not having a long toss partner. I know the distance because each of my fence poles on the side are 10 ft. apart and then I throw into another fence.

Also does anybody have any long toss programs that can be used for a 12 yr. old boy. I can throw about 150 on 1 or 2 hops.

Delaware_Diamonds_8,

Congrats to you for wanting to improve your game.   My oldest son (college pitcher) would take a bucket of balls and throw into a fence (across a soccer) while he was staying with his Grandparents and working a summer internship a few years ago.  My son would play light catch with his Grandpa to get warmed up before doing his longtoss routine.   You may have a similar challenge finding a way to get sufficiently warmed up before doing your long toss routine.  It is very important to be loose before starting long toss.

You can search and reference the "Strength and Conditioning" and "Pitching and Throwing" section under "SKILLS and TIPS" on  HSBBWeb for additional posts on long tossing for either your age or ability.  All three of my sons' use Jaeger "J" bands and long tossing program   www.jaegersports.com.   You may want to look at Jaeger as well as others, and talk to your parents about it.

Good luck!

I probably can't hurt.  Too bad you can't find a partner.

2 years ago, my kid was out early one morning practicing with the team.  An older kid drove up.  Got out of his car with a bucket.  Walked into the outfield and started throwing -- alone.  Coach got the kids together and said "boys, that is ____ ____.  He just got a scholarship to play baseball at to Notre Dame.  Watch what it takes."
