Word out of Longwood University today is that Head Coach Buddy Bolding is going to retire after this upcoming season after 35 years as head coach.

That's big news...I believe that Longwood is a program that should attract some very strong candidates for head coach because I think they could be a potential sleeper program long term.
They have a good location (2 hours to Richmond, Roanoke, Raleigh/Durham, 3 hours to VA Beach), solid academics but admissions shouldn't be a big issue, lots of appealing majors, good facilities, and a good network of former players coaching in high school. With the new conference affiliation, I think they could be a very attractive fit for kids who aren't quite at that elite ACC/SEC level.
I think it should be very interesting to see who they hire...the right coach could really springboard them into a great program.

FWIW - As of mid-July, this was not public knowledge. Keewartson was on an unofficial visit and the question was asked directly (to the assistant coach) about the retirement of Coach Bolding.
Also FWIW, word around campus is that Coach McCullough is taking over. No idea how much validity is in that or if it's speculation/rumor. Coach McCullough is relatively young, though.
I believe the quote's from Bolding quite appropriately reflect his...let's call it uniqueness.
