I am coaching a team out of Richmond this summer and am looking to play in some summer tourneys. Any of you showcase guys have advice for a team not quite at the showcase age yet? I feel like my team should be pretty competitive, we played well in the fall league and won in the end of the year tourney. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I think at 15U, maybe a showcase or two to get the players feet wet would be helpful.
Other options, locally, Triple Crown has an event in the Richmond area for 16U. Others to consider in addition to Dynamic baseball are: Impact baseball has a 16U and a 15U tournament. My son played in a 15U Triple Crown tournament in Myrtle Beach last summer that was well run. D1Draftable has a 16U tournament.
In addition to dynamicbaseball.org, d1draftable.com, Triple Crown Events in VA, and The Triple Crown Summer Nationals, you'll want to take a look at USSSA offerings, both at the USSSA site as well as the VA site at http://www.vausssabaseball.com/. In addition, ECTB has taken over VA Sports Complex, and has a wide variety of tournaments at vasportscomplex.com. Good luck.

If you are referring to the Triple Crown "Baseball Championships" for 16u-18u in Richmond towards the end of the Summer...he won't accept any 15U teams, UNLESS he doesn't fill the 16U field.

Turns out they wanted another team for their 16U tourney last year, and took a local 15U Team that had shown interest.

Apparently, (This came from the Triple Crown rep) this Richmond 15U team went 0-4 and got beat up on pretty bad. The tournament director supposedly got complaints from parents / coaches from the teams that played them. (Why come to VA to play and play against this type of competition etc).

Who knows.
ctandc, you bring up a very good point. Two summers ago keewartson played in 16U tournament (not Triple Crown) in the Richmond area as a mixed 14U and 15U team and they did very well, however, some of the younger teams did not. I heard the tournament director did not invite some teams back to play the following year.

Years ago, our travel coach signed the team up to play in a tournament 5 hours away. A week before the tourny, only 4 teams has signed up. When he called the director of this big name organization, he found out the other 3 teams were just local teams. We bowed out for the very reason you mentioned.
