I have a 2024 catcher looking for a strength workout. Any suggestions?
I would suggest getting a functional movement screen first to identify any deficiencies. Some programs can do it remotely, but most reputable facilities has a PT or certified trainer that can perform it.
What you want is a strength program designed for overhand athletes. You also want it tailored to your specific needs. This starts with an assessment and then programming. Some players are hyper mobile and need stability work, some are tight and need mobility work. Some need different things for different areas, such as being hyper mobile in the shoulder and needing a stability focus there while being very tight in the hips and needing mobility work there.
Find a reputable instructor with the ability to assess your specific needs and design programming around that assessment.
22 nailed it. It isn’t a one size fits all. Driveline has a great online program if you prefer he train at home. Good luck finding equipment. I’d recommend a gym that focuses on athletes and will customize his workout. Cressey Sports Performance is a great example. See if you can find something similar.
