RBAWEST in Richmond Virginia is an option for your son. Go to www.RBAWEST.net and look at our Pitching Coaches that work for us. We do over 250 plus private lessons a week, we get booked up over winter months so call us soon to get a weekly slot. We also offer Winter Camps for all ages (1.5 hours a night per week for 10 weeks). Call office or email me back and we can set up for a free half hour pitching lesson for you. Thanks

Year after year, some of the best pitchers in the state come out of Chesterfield County. (High schools include James River, Midlothian, Clover Hill, Cosby, Matoaca, Thomas Dale, etc.)

What they all have in common is Rich Graham of Richmond Baseball Academy South.

Everyone has their preferences, but sometimes the proof is in the proverbial pudding.
quote:
RISE (now SportsQuest Baseball Academy)in Chesterfield County is where Tyler Wilson, UVA pitcher and a lot of other good Dominion District pitchers got their training. The Richmond Braves organization has merged with them now also.

Tyler was trained by his father, a former AAA pitcher and a founder of RISE. He is not affiliated with SportsQuest, to my understanding.

I have not yet seen any information on who SportsQuest will have as its instructors, have you? If so, please share that information.
PHIL WILSON | Senior Instructor | Pitching and Team Instruction
• Coach Wilson joins SportsQuest as one of our most accomplished instructors. Phil was the founder of RISE Baseball, and will continue to provide his guidance and expertise under the roof he helped build. ______________________________________________________________________________
TODD FIEGEL | Senior Instructor | Pitching and Team Instruction
• Varsity Pitching Coach at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, VA
________________________________________________________________________________
JOSH SCARBROUGH | Senior Instructor | Hitting/Catching/Team Instruction
• Coached UVA-Wise hitters to .351 team batting average in 2007 (7th in the Nation)
• Also serves as an Associate Scout for the New York Yankees

RUSTY STADLER | Instructor | Hitting and Team Instruction
• Played collegiate baseball at Virginia Tech
• Coached the Virginia Cardinals for five seasons
Cool, glad to know Phil's back at it. I had heard he was no longer going to do that. Guess I was misinformed.

BTW, the note on Rusty Stadler is a bit off. Rusty is a good friend who coached along with me for the 5 years referenced. The team we coached together was known as the Huguenot Trailblazers for the first 4 of those 5 years, and as the Virginia Cardinals for the 5th year only. (Actually also for a 6th year for which Rusty was not involved.)

That team stopped operating in 2004, and is not to be confused with today's Virginia Cardinals 17u program. Rusty now coaches for the Richmond Braves, I think at either the 13u or 14u level. He is not affiliated with the current Cardinals program.

None of which is meant to suggest Rusty isn't a great guy to have work with your son, because he most surely is. Just wanted to clear up any confusion as to the use of the Cardinals name.
