I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. I would like to take a second to introduce myself. My name is Paul Parent and I am a senior at Marian College located in Fond du Lac, WI. I am a member of the baseball team and I am working towards graduating with a degree in Sport and Recreational Management, which will be completed in May. Over my college career, I have been fortunate enough to have had many opportunities to be around the game of baseball and to increase my knowledge at many different aspects. I have had the opportunity to play baseball in Europe with the Athletes in Action program, where I had pitched against international competition. This trip also allowed me to share my knowledge of the game and instruct area youth through clinics. I have also had the opportunity to travel around the Midwest building, reconstructing, and maintaining some of the finest baseball fields in the Midwest through my fathers company HK Sports Fields (www.hksportsfields.com). This past summer I had the great experience of having an internship for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the single A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. For this experience, I worked as the Stadium Operations intern. So you can see that I have had many great opportunities to work and play around the game of baseball. In the future, I want to work in the coaching aspect of the game. I have a very strong passion for recruiting and evaluating talent along with learning, understanding, and teaching the biomechanics of pitching.
The reason that I am writing all of you is to gain insight into getting my foot in the door in the college baseball scene in this area. In the past two springs that I have gone to Arizona, I have absolutely fallen in love with the state and the game of baseball that the state of Arizona has to offer. Any advice, contacts, or any known opportunities, that you are aware of would be greatly appreciated. If it helps at all, I will be in the Phoenix area January 15-19 for the Sports Turf Managers Association Meetings and then be back again for spring training in March. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Paul Parent
