Looking for summer/fall baseball

My son is a freshman in the 15U age group. Sort of a 'tweener. Most travel ball seems to go away after 14U level and I'm not convinced "showcase" ball is the right road to take for a freshman aged kid. My understanding of showcase ball is it is not like a regular team looking to "win" and advance in tournys but rather ensure each player has an opportunity to demostrate their ability for potential scouts. Is that correct? I have been told it also calls for a much larger financial committment. JV season has just ended. The high school has a "summer team" that plays for a few weeks during the week but that is it until next spring. We live in SW Wake county and will travel for the right situation. Any ideas or suggestions?
