My son often is infulenced by baseball when doing his school work. He's now a senior and has done well in school and I've read much of his work over the years where he spoke of baseball. Boston has been his favorite pro team for as long as I can remember and he wrote this poem for a class the other day... I thought I would share.
Love of Red Sox
They have not won in 85 years
Only to do well and come up short
It is always expected so I do not shed tears
But any who trashes them I am quick to retort
It is surreal things that cause them to terror
From the stupid sale of Babe Ruth
To that idiot Bill Buckner’s error
And Pedro Martinez aiming for Garcia’s tooth
Yet still I wait for them to win
Because I know their time will soon come
Whenever they make the call to the bullpen
I know the game is close to getting done
I know their losing streak will soon end
Because the Red Sox cannot loose forever
"If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot."
