I'm a RHP and will graduate in 2011. On a good day, I may hit 80 mph. I'm 5'10". I have a great curve and change up. In my last outing I threw 4 innings with 9 Ks. I want to play college ball at any level. How do I get noticed? A showcase probably won't help becasue I don't throw hard. Please help me.

You didn't mention grades. How are your grades and your SATs? If you've got good grades the Headfirst camps might be the ticket to getting seen by some good D3's. PG also has an academic showcase. Like anyone else you need to play on a good summer team if possible. You also need to work on developing your fastball. The better your fastball the more effective your off speed pitches are going to be against higher level competition.
Hi wc8,

I've seen low volicity pitchers very effective, espically coming in after someone throwing upper 80's low 90's.

I agree with CADad, good grades will make a difference. You sould talk to your HS coach about schools he could recommend. You sould also consider looking at the web sites of some D2, D3, NAIA and JUCO's you would want to attend even if you did not play baseball. See if you can find out about their current pitching staff and their volicities.

Go visit the schools you find interesting and try to talk to the coaches. Fall is a great time to do this because their schedules are not as hectic. Ask the coaches what events they attend for recruiting and try to go to those. Let the coach know you are going to be at an event.

Best thing I can advise is to be a little agressive in contacting the schools and coaches, don't simply go to these "showcase" events then sit back and wait for them to come to you!

FIND A GOOD SUMMER TEAM!!!! that's one mistake I made with my junior-senior summer. Instead of getting a few D1 looks I am receiving right now, I guarantee I'd be getting a handful if I only played on a team that competed against the best and focused on exposure.

Here's a tip. Go onto PG's website. Navigate to the 17/18u travel team rankings and see if any of the teams listed are around your area and do your best to contact these coaches. Now would be a good time to do that.
