Manhattan is an excellent program. Coach Leighton is one of my former players and he does a tremendous job of not only coaching but teaching the game. His staff is first rate and they are always out on the recruiting trail. Year in and out he finds guys who are big time talent who want to play for him.
I believe Manhattan has approx 15 players in MILB at this time.
(1) Is it Manhattan or Marist that has a Classical Languge requirement?

(2) Are those GPA/SAT numbers the minimum he is looking to bring into the program?

(3) Baseball scholarships? Any?

(4) Field and practice facilities?

(5) What sort of area is the school in? I realize it is in suburbia somewhere. How far from Manhattan? How far from major airports?
Not sure about the language program. The academics are usually negotiable. It's D1 so scholarships are there. Nice field but it is a field not a stadium. It's not suburbia, it's located in the Bronx and is 10 minutes from Manhattan. Small campus. They just won their division with a season high 34 wins.
The area is safe for the most part as long as you have some sense. There is a strip of taverns a block from the school and most kids hang out there. Manhattan is only 3 stops away on the train. It's a big commuter school. When my daughter went there the out of towners hook up with the locals and get a real feel for the city. ...They take the baseball very seriously and have a year round training program.
