As a mom of one of TV's talented ball players the thing with TV is they have lacked having a program.
There has been no consistency to the coaching staff and the coaches are from the football staff and none are true baseball coaches. The district has 3 other schools that have coaches that are baseball coaches. All of us parents have been expressing our concerns for the nonprogram the school has. The new school opens in 2012 and my soon to be 8th grader wants to go there to play ball..and we have not idea if it will be staffed with baseball coaches. If you want to coach baseball and have an opportunity to create a program and build on it then TV would be a good place. There are good parents and kids with maybe half playing select ball in the off seasons. My son is just graduating and TV did nothing to help him get a scholarship! We had to do that for him!
I am the JV head coach and varsity bench coach at South Grand Prairie. As a coach that got to see Timberview several times this season, I will agree with the above that they are missing a baseball guy there. We have had a few Timberview kids play for our summer select organization the past few Summers, so I know that they have some talented kids there. Would it be tough to build a competitive program there? I think so. Impossible? No.
