Does anyone have information about the Marietta college baseball program. They seem to have a young and competitive team.
They are always a top team, If they do not get the Pool A bid for their conference, they are usually a strong contender for a Pool C. They are usually the class of the OAC, usually followed by Heidelberg. Heidelberg occasionally beats them out for the conference champ.
They recruited my son heavily, and I think if he would have chosen Physics over Chemistry that he would have gone there. They seem to bring quite a few kids in every year, it is hard to tell how many of them are recruited vs. walk-on's, unless you are close to the program. Their players compete in a Fall league down in Marietta that is opened to local high school players as well. That is were they will get their first look after they come to campus. Some very good players go their and do not earn the playing time they think they deserve and transfer. If a kid goes there he has to go and be ready to compete.
They currently have their 2014 Roster up. It has quite a few Freshman listed. One of their Freshmen Studs from last year does not appear on the roster. But the rumor is, that he will be back on the team by spring.
Marietta has a long and storied tradition and does a good job of developing players that have some talent.
You can find out a lot about the team by going over the the http://www.D3boards.com. You will find the OAC forum in the Mideast section of Baseball.
