A few weeks or more ago I think someone asked about Marietta College and its baseball program

The latest press release from them I received carries a very interesting fact---not only did they once again win their conference but it was the 30th cconsecutive year that they have won 30 or more games--Now that is a STAT that has to impress you !!!

My son has had alot of interest from the Marrietta coach, however his desire is a MAC school as first choice.
Not knowing the process well, we got off to a late start with getting his name out,he is currently a senior and played HS football instead of fall ball (which he did not regret, had an incredable football experience)so he did not get to be seen until a winter camp, now must wait till the next signing period in Spring to see if some MAC schools will offer. I've encouraged him to apply to Marietta and some DII's in the meantime. Of course he would like to go as far as possible with baseball, so you feel Marrietta would be a good opportunity? I know their academics are great!
If he wants to attend school in the Fall of '05 he had better apply now...Alot of deadlines coming soon. If he misses the school of his choice or a school doesn't suit him, he will miss out. He should be looking at schools to apply to now that are an academic fit...playing baseball for them may be another story.

Apply, Apply, Apply...if he receives no interest in the MAC, he can walk on.

Good Luck!
a real nice small school (1200) in a small city setting on a couple of rivers
tho a new coach, they usually recruited a pretty big class and whittle it from about 45+ to 35 by spring.
some pretty good players have come out of Marrietta, and tho there isn't much competition in their conference (OAC), they'll fortunatly schedule a better non conf schedule

there's a world of difference between a small 1200+ student body & all of the MAC schools - and the conferences are in different worlds

stone, get out to some winter workouts (mini showcase) in your area or Golden's in Columbus

there are 6 MAC schools in Ohio and if you're on track with the ncaa clearing house and are an instate student admission should be a breeze
Thanks for the advice. We've been sending out our letters this week and applying to other schools. Just wish I would have stumbled on this web site last year, it has everything we needed to know. I know alot of camps are on the weeks of Christmas break, he got to attend one. We'll just keep working on it!
We are impressed with Marietta, good to hear about the school.
