Announced on 7/28/2010. Effective 2010-2011 school year, composite bats shall be illegal until meeting the standards of 1-3-2(e)ART 2....

As of this date the only bat that has passed the baseball exit speed test and approved for use in HS play is the DeMarini CF4 and Vendetta.

Bats can have a composite handle but must have an alloy barrel except for the two listed above. So if you son in HS has a Easton Stealth Speed or similar composite bat it is now a $400.00 cage bat.

Son's looking to replace all composite bat due to UIL rules change. Also does anyone demo this bat in the DFW area?

Out in LF,

Did you find out anything about the Marruci Cat 5 BBCOR bat?
Son is interested in this bat also. Can't seem to find anyone around here that swings it.

Yes,we have. There are a few boys on FMHS team that swing it and like the way it feels and hits. My son spoke to one in particular and he was pleased with its balance and sweet spot.

Spoke to a Marucci rep. yesterday and he stated that Marucci has no plans in changing its current model Cat5 Squared BBCOR for the coming year.

Hope this helps some. My son has decided this is what he will be swinging for a BBCOR.
