With tryouts starting in 4 days (3/16/15) statewide, we can only hope that this snow will be gone and the fields in playing shape by the first week of April!!! If not, it's going to be an interesting season. I have heard that the state tournament has already been moved back.
I hope that there will not be a lot of injuries and sore arms at the beginning of the season......

A lot of snow has melted in the past three days. But now it's getting colder again. I still have two feet of snow in my yard with six foot snow banks in front. I can't imagine tryouts being anywhere but indoors. Even if the snow melts in two weeks (unlikely) the fields will be muddy.
BC has eight homes games scheduled between 3/18 and 4/1. It's not like the field is great when it's in it's best condition. One year BC played their first round of home games in Rhode Island. But RI got hammered with snow this year.
New England Baseball Complex in Northborough has three turf fields cleared and open for play right now. They tweeted a team having a practice there yesterday.
RJM - We have about the same here. My son's HS uses a city field, so the AD usually schedules away games for the first couple of weeks with schools that have their own fields.
The URI field is nice. My son's been down there a few times and really enjoyed it. Nice thing is that it's turf.
Massachusetts HS Baseball tryouts started yesterday. Good Luck to all. Let's hope we get outside sometime soon.
I'm surprised how much snow has melted in the past week. But there's still snow on the ground. Boston College has tagged this weekend's home games as TBD for location. They should play them in Raleigh.
RJM - Is it safe to assume that your son plays for BC?
No. I live on the North Shore. When I don't go to see my son play I go to BC games since it's ACC ball. I know a couple of dads of players.
