yeah thanks alot man we do have solid pitching with bolsinger and the surprise season trent appleby is having being 7-0....yeah unfortunately that rumor is true milam is leaving us for boyd, should do great things there though, hes an amazing coach...oh and if u can give me any info on the teams we may play that would be greatly appreciative lol
Seems whenever we get to this time of the year and people ask for playoff predictions, there are some that become angry when their team isn't picked.....I hope those that come here often don't view these opinions as a slap at particular teams or their players. All the playoff teams are good or they wouldn't be there.

In my opinion (which isn't worth much), three of the four teams mentioned in the original post will be tough for McKN to beat, especially Poteet and HP.

CTR -- enjoy the ride! Smile

I expect one of these two teams to be in Round Rock! McKinney North will give them a series though. I'd love to see North get there with our past ties to the program, but both Poteet and HP are REALLY good this year, especially with HP having Kershaw.
Haven't seen HP or Poteet, but I know several of their players, but North has enough pitching to go very deep. They swing the bats extremely well.

As with baseball, anything can happen, but North has as good a chance of beating those two as they do beating North. Should provide for some great match-ups.

HP and Poteet have ended North's last two season's in the playoffs. Think North is out for a little revenge? I do!
OP - rumors have alot of truth to them I'll PM you!

Swing Doc - all juniors will be returning seniors at North - Boyd is 9,10,11 next year. Boyd will take quite a bit of sub varsity talent - the major question is where will Yates and Taylor the 2 sophs end up? Either way Boyd is getting alot of talent from Both McKinney and McKinney North!!
Not sure about Yates, but I know for a fact that Nico Taylor will be at North. He lives about 1 minute from the school. I hate to see North get split up like it has. My daughter was a freshman the first year of varsity competition and it was a difficult year for most of the athletic program.....except for softball of course!! They started 6 freshman and 3 sophomores and went 3 deep in the playoffs!!

I hate to even bring this up but...is this the end of expansion in McKinney --- for 5-6 years at least? We had our baseball year-end banquet out in Celina at Bill Bates' ranch and wow! - the building continues in the StoneBridge Ranch area....and there's Craig Ranch stuff....and....and....

PD,

It breaks my heart to see McKinney growing like it is. I moved there in 1969 when there was like 14,000 people. Anybody out there remember Steffey's Jiffy Dog? Now that's going way back!! It stayed that way for 15 years and then people started realizing how beautiful a place it really is and started moving there. It really started to boom in the mid 80's and hasn't stopped. I know it's progress, but it's just not the McKinney I knew growing up. I know FormerObserver will say the same thing. We all grew up together there! cry

Forecaster's predict that by 2020 McKinney will be the 8th largest city in Texas with a population over 350,000. Maybe I need to move back and become a realtor! Not!!

Now what does all that have to do with baseball!!!!!!!! Sorry people, just being nostalgic!
O.P. Ah yes, I could go for a Jiffy Dog right now! I remember when the hot spots to eat where the Dairy Queen on 380 and then the Pizza Hut opened, big time stuff right there. My dad and I used to quail hunt where MHS now resides. We could move 2 or 3 coveys down there. farmerjohn Oh yeah, my sister and her husband used to live on Bill Bates' ranch before he ever played a down at Tennessee. I've caught many a fish out of the 40 acre lake there.

Now about North, saw them Saturday night ripping the cover off the ball. Appleby is a great #2 if you can call a 7-0 pitcher #2. I'm also really impressed with the Ross kid. Dirt bag and s-c-r-a-p-p-y as all get out.

...and a junior, small, but we're gonna find him a place to play somewhere..........

...just so I can watch.

Fried ham, tater tots and a sweet tea for me, Delores, aka "Red".

and, about 1968, traveled to Plano, Texas for a Plano Wildcats game through the cotton fields over to the ONLY side at that old stadium (still there?) and, I think they went on to state, might have gotten beat at the state championship game.

Another old McKinney family. I remember his dad when he was just a small-fry. Am I getting old or what?

All I know is the kid can play some ball. He should be on the mound more though. He threw a 1 hitter in the Mickey Mantle World Series last year against a real strong team. I don't remember who it was, but he shut them down.

Where is he wanting to play FO after HS?

FO,

Delores just passed away in the last few months. I saw one of her sons over here working in Rockwall at a gas station and he told me the news. Remember Shirley and Mary Edna?

Are we getting way off track here or what!!

Memories...........

I'd give my oldest son for a Jiffy Dog right now!!

Didn't the Lackie family own the Jiffy Dog at one time? Also, Mike Livezy has the recipe for Jiffy Dog................

My dad owned the Jiffy Dog from 1969 til 1981. Heck, if it wasn't for the Jiffy Dog, I'd probably still be in Colorado where I was born!! Thank God for Jiffy Dogs!!

Mike better not let my dad know that he has the recipe! We've thought for years that we should open up another Jiffy Dog place. We could knock em' dead if you know what I mean!

LA, FO.....how many times did ya'll drive from Westgate on over to Steffey's and then back to Westgate and then back to Steffey's and then.......I wish I had a dollar for every time I did that!! I'd be retired right now!!
Yes OP, I was part of the Westgate "Dilemma". Never forget the newspaper article about how all the kids from around the county would come to Westgate and cruise.

I was going to jury duty at the new court center on 380. I was standing there and people were talking about how big McKinney was and I told them that this court building used to be the old hospital and I was born there!

Also remember when there was North Ward, South Ward, East Ward and West Ward. Last but not least the high school baseball field is now the parking lot for the football field on the east side.

LA,

Went to North Ward 1st, 2nd and 1/2 of 3rd grade, then to West Ward for the rest of elementary school. 5th and 6th at Caldwell, 7th, 8th AND 9th grade at Slaughter, which are both now ELEMENTARY schools and now the old high school is a middle school!! My how things have changed. I feel like this is classmates.com!!

By the way, did you see where they are naming MISD stadium after Coach Poe!
McKinney North plays Texarkana Texas High Thursday night in Texarkana @ 7:00. Game two, McKinney North HS 1:00. Game 3 follows, if necessary.

Good luck Dawgs!!

I heard Bolsinger was bring a 94mph heater the other night against Newman Smith and was consistently at 91 for most of his innings. I bet Tech is looking forward to this kid making some Big 12 noise next spring. That is if he's not drafted in June and signs. Could happen!!
