The Metro East Coaches Association has started a Showcase/All Star Game for our area. It's a really nice thing for the kids. Coach Portz (O'Fallon) and Coach Issacs (Belleville Althoff) run this event with the aid of the association. Here is a story on it. I guess I'd better get my business here completed and make it there. It looks like I'm getting an award that I didn't know about. LOL

Congrats Coach! Coach of the Year, awesome!

I was hoping to meet you at the State finals. We got to the dance but bowed out early. Good luck next year.

Smokey, and others, I too looked forward to meeting so many posters. Gosh, we just fell a grand slam and extra innings short! LOL! SOMEDAY!

As for the award, the blessings continue to flow. I never thought I ever receive any coaching award other than most second guess coach alive. LOL!!! I did really appreciate the article in my hometown about our success. Thanks to Steve Porter and the Alton Telegraph! I had a chance to talk about and thank the coaches that coached me and the others that I've had an opportunity to work with. People don't realize that as recently as 10 years ago, this school was going to lose all of it's athletics and wasn't consider a good place for coaches to go to. The turn around has been staggering.
