this is kind of a poll, but i was wondering, what kind of mentalities do you guys think the best players have? I'll throw a few out there:
1) easy going. this player doesn't let pressure or anything negative hold him back. But does he really get the most out of himself by not caring as much about the game? Or does he because he plays a looser game?
2) this next player is the type that can really get after it, but doesn't always in practice. Sometimes doesn't feel like, too tired, etc. But when game time comes is a very intense, smart player. Usually is a good player because he is intense when it counts and he knows he can be without much preperation and doesn't feel guilty or the need during practice. Just cares about games.
3) hard nosed all the time. Is constantly trying to improve. But this player is met with the pressures he puts on himself, and usually because he is such a hard worker, the pressures from other people. This holds him back to an extent.
4) Cocky. This player knows hes good and doesn't get an A in the preperation or concentration column. Im talking on the bus rides, on deck circle, etc. basically the little places that are important to most people. when time comes he concentrates, as in the batters box or on the mound, and he also does what is expected of him or more in practice.
there are tons more but i don't think anybody would take the time to read my post if i wrote anymore. What mentalities to the best players you know have?
