I echo Texan's sentiments. I hope all of you have special family-time as we celebrate this wonderous time of the year.

I have to say....while I purused the football message boards over the past few months (made 2-3 posts all season -- surprised???) I found that the rules on which this forum are based make it a truly outstanding resource. Things get heated here once in a while and we all love to disagree.....but I am thankful for the overall respect we show towards one another.

PantherSon had an up-and-down season on the football field. He went from 2nd-team to starter back to 2nd-team in the playoffs -- then was called into action at a crucial time in their final game. He responded positively to the situations he faced along the way. If anyone doubts the passion some have for HS football in Texas, I have stories to tell ----- including one about the threatening phone call he received a week after the season ended --- an adult that decided it was "big" to blame a season on a 17 yr old kid playing his first season of varsity football. Who does a thing like that? As I have said....life lessons learned from sports....it's all good. Smile PS was named to the 2nd-team All-district squad in a district with an All-State QB and 2 other D1 signees at the position. I am proud of him and thankful to those of you that showed your support throughout the season.

God Bless you all during this Christmas season. I look forward to meeting more of you and to wonderful times this spring (and beyond).

-Randy / PD
I followed his progress this year. Tell him I said congratulations for being named to the All-District team. That is quite an honor. I know what you mean about some parents who are a bit "passionate" when their season comes to end. We had a very similar experience last year when our Baseball season ended so abruptly. My son had an extremely difficult time following that loss and the "piling on" by the parents immediately following the game did some pretty significant damage to an already fractured spirit. Not to mention he was only a sophomore at the time, it seems kind of senseless to me.

Anyway, tell PS we will see him soon. Merry Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas All and get ready for a great baseball season!
PD, I agree with you 100% and cannot believe anyone would do such a thing.... one in every crowd I guess. Congrats to PD son on his All District accomplishment though and he should be proud of his contribution's he made to the team. I also agree on the difference this board has to others out there and the "class" of folks who discuss things here.

merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all and may Santa bring your school a great season ahead.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! *

Merry Christmas to all........

Tis the season to reflect on those we love and to give thanks to those that have been part of our lives throughout the years.

It is a season full of many gifts those given and those received. I am truly thankful and appreciative of the many gifts I have been given, over the years, through my participation on this site and the most special gift of all has been in the form of the true friendships I have made.

Through this site I have been able to reestablish some old baseball friends as well as make some great new ones via PM/emails/phone calls or through in person meetings at local ballfields. Each of these truly have been great gifts.

We are all truly blessed to have friends that share in a mutual passion. This passion is not just the passion of the great game of baseball but the passion of loving/supporting and enjoying our children for they truly are the GREATEST of gifts......

To all: Enjoy the season, stay safe this holiday and I hope everyone can FIND what they want, WORK for what they need and GIVE what they can to others in the upcoming year.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS and Thank You for the GIFT of friendship.

I hear you on the baseball gifts. 11 year old had to upgrade bat, you know, to copy-cat big brother. For the money I have spent on bats over the years, I might could have retired a few years earlier than I am going to be able to (if I ever can ), but I wouldn't have traded seeing them get excited for anything.
