Why all the fuss about the Mets and Pedro being out for the rest of the year. The Mets were only 11-11 in games Pedro started this year...not a very impressive record for a team that is 30 games over .500!. IMO they have the best money pitcher in the game today in El Duque (kudos to Minaya)...with Glavine, Maine, Trachsel a strong bullpen and that offense they certainly have enough to get thru a pathethic NL and meet the Evil Empire in another subway series. Coach Merc,

I am here - just relishing the Mets 1st step toward glory.

If you recall - Soxnole was challenging me - and my Triple AAA "Mutts" - a few months ago.

I told him the White Sox would gag - as they almost always do. He didnt agree.

Fast forward to today - The White Sox gagged up a huge hairball.
In about 2 weeks the entire White Sox team will be munching Doritos and throwing down some Budweiser, while they watch "The Mutts" play forward.

Just sing along with me:

MEET THE METS,
MEET THE METS,
Step right up and greet the Mets!
Bring your kiddies,
bring your wife;
Guaranteed to have the time of your life
because the Mets are really sockin’ the ball; knocking those home runs over the wall!
East side,
West side,
everybody’s coming down
to meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York town!

Ya Gotta Believe!!!

I must admit the Sox dissapointed to the max.

We'll live with it.(and the 05 Championship!)

Gagged is a word you Mutts fans are familiar with....perennially!

On the other hand I love the mutts chances with El Duque and Glavine, especially against the woeful NL.

They should be ashamed of themselves if they can't get to the WS and get swept by the real Champs...from the AL.
Now we have it defined folks; the difference between gagging and not gagging is 5 games.

I will not hear anything bad said about the Cardinals; they're MY team and if anything bad is going to be said about them, I'll do it myself. And heaven knows I have this season. Heaven SHOULD bloody well know, I've appealed to them often enough. Wink

Besides, the Cards Fans have enough problems right now. I'm not talking about the recent return from the DL of Up The Middle, Marquis' ego getting in the way of his ability to throw a strike, or the fact that we don't have a closer. I'm talking about a REAL problem: Chris Berman is calling our first series......

Unfortunately for them, they're in the AL where the bar is a tad bit higher. Wink

As a Yankees fan (add me to the list Coach), I loved having El Duque in the Post Season. I'm not looking to see him pitch for somebody else against them. I'm also rooting for another Subway Series.

I don't know about that. I'd say 88 wins are pretty good no matter how you look at it. The problem is that in the AL, it just didn't cut it. Granted the Mets are in the NLDS and the ChiSox are off golfing but I think the winner of the WS will be an AL team....again. I just don't think the NL, overall, or even individually, is as strong as the AL. Granted, anything can happen in the DS, CS, and WS games but I'm thinking an AL team wins the WS in 5 games.
Whitesox actually finished with 90 wins and out of the playoffs yet Cards 83 wins and SD/LA
88 wins are in for the NL.

If the Yanks don't win it then I'd like to see the Mets take it. If both NY teams get knocked out then I hope Twins win it all for the M&M boyz...if all three of these teams are out well then I'll be watching Hockey Big Grin
