Seriously, I see this as a good move for the Mets. They have lots of work to do on their roster before any manager will make a great deal of difference, but Randolph should be good.

Now the Yanks have lost their pitching coach and bench coach. Looks like Neil Allen (yes, former Met) will be the Yanks pitching coach. Maybe Mattingly as bench coach to groom him to be the next manager??

Willie Randolph is well respected in baseball circles, and is a great hire for the Mets. He alone won't win them games, though...whole attitude needs adjusting. Good luck.

First a new GM in OMAR and now a new MGR in Willie---I see it as two steps in the right direction

It's a win-win situation for Willie. He either becomes a magician for reviving the Mets or he get valuable experience dealing with hard times. He sure can't be blamed for breaking something that was broke to begin with.
