Middle-of-the-pack program in the Big Ten.
Big dogs in the Big Ten, perenially, are Ohio State and Minnesota. Have someone else sneak in from time to time, but the Buckeyes and Gophers are good to go in alternate years.

New head coach this year.
Head Coach David Grewe is an up and coming collegiate coach. Was the recruiting coordinator at Notre Dame prior to accepting the head coaching position as MSU. Has some long term plans to turn around the program, including new stadium. Heck of a nice guy if you ever get a chance to talk with him.
I attended the MSU camp this winter and was very impressed with how it was ran. The coach staff was great too. I look for coach Grewe and his staff to turn the program around here in the next couple of years and compete for some big ten titles.
