I am looking into different showcases for my son to include Perfect Game and came across this one. I was wondering if anyone has information or has attended this showcase. Also what does the combine/skills competition/tryouts consist of? It looks like after the skills competition, they pick the best players and then have an allstar game between MD/PA and DC/VA etc...

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Mid-Atlantic Classic is held by Mr. Lou Holcomb. It is a pro-style tryout with pitchers throwing off the mound to radar guns. While batters take bp and run the 60 yd dash and get timed from home to first. All this is held then they select two teams consisting of about 20 players i believe, and a game is held and taped and televised.

Hope that helps a bit.
You get invited or you can just sign up. They run you through the pro workouts which consist of:

Pitching off the mound, radar guns
Throwing from the OF
Running the 60
Hitting

They do two sessions on one day. One for the North Team, and one for the South team! Most scouts are there on the tryout day, because there are many HIGH quality players that do not make the All-Star game. The AS game is televised on local TV and seems to be pretty competitive. I have not attended the AS game in a couple of years, but It is a "MUST SEE" for the tryout portion! I have multiple coaches at the event to cover everything!

Hope this helps!
