Infield,

Here's how to PM bluesky.

At the top of all forums is a green box that has the word Go on it. Click Go, drop down box appears, click Personal Zone. Drop down box appears, click Private Messaging. Click the green box that reads New Private Message. Click the Find new buddies in the mid-bottom left side. Type in bluesky (one word). Click search. Check the bluesky box then click on Add selected members.

When bluesky appears in the My Contacts, click on the name then on Add. Lastly, click on Invite Members.

Now, if you only wanted an outside email address...
Collikar, thanks for the tutorial!

Old Pitcher, you're right on. Here's a quote from Hardin Simmons' website about head coach Steve Coleman:

"Coleman was a standout third baseman and catcher at Lubbock Christian University from 1983 to 1985. He helped the Chaps win the NAIA World Series in 1983 and was honorable-mention All-American in 1983. He transferred to LCU after one year at Oklahoma University, where he earned a scholarship after a stellar career at Monterey High School in Lubbock. In 1981, he helped the Plainsmen to the Class 5A state title and, in the process, set four batting records that still stand today."
And here I am Cool

My son had a very good experience in his two years at Midland.
Coach Coleman had a great "rookie" season. My son enjoyed playing for him. He found him to be firm but fair and enforced a positive work ethic for his players. Son didn't care for the early morning work-outs he implemeted, and told him so in his exit interview, but had no other complaints.
He found him to be very approachable (and this was true for parents as well...not that we did, but he gave out his cell and said to call anytime...)
Coach Rodriguez does a good job with the pitchers. Don't know much about Coach Mummert and son isn't here to ask.

As far as academics, you will find no better academic advisor than Jan Reed. She treats the athletes like her own kids and makes sure that they are on track. She knows what all of their interests are and helps them get involved in the campus in more than just their respective sport. (She signed mine up for a Battle of the Bands after she heard he was a good performer and then told him about it And because he loves performing, he had no problems with that.)
Mrs. Reed and Coach Coleman stay on top of players to ensure class attendance and grades.

The facilities - field, dorms, school buildings are all nice and comfortable.
And as collikar said, there isn't much else to do in Midland so staying focused is a bit easier than it might be on a big campus.

Please feel free to PM me and I can give you more specifics.
I met Steve Coleman at the 1981 Texas HS All-Star game in Houston. I was the starting pitcher for the north squad and he was the starting catcher! I didn't know he was in the coaching business. I need to look him up. I can remember riding with him on some kind of roller-coaster ride at Astro World while we were down there. Funny the stupid little things you can remember sometime!! I can't remember my name half the time, but I can remember a roller-coaster ride 26 years ago! Confused

I played football with Steve Coleman at Lubbock Monterey and can tell you that even at that age, he was a person of high integrity.. Also, Steve was on the field one tough ***. I'm sure his little brother David is cut of the same cloth.

Coleman played for Bobby Moegle in High School... If you know anything about Texas High School baseball history, you will know that Steve learned from the best there ever was/will be. IMHO.
