Harmon on the mound for Bird vs Joseph for Midlothian. Both Pitchers lasted the whole game ,but the Midlo bats won this time. Jacob Stevens Midlo with a HR, J Moore 2B and J Tavener 2B.

Does anyone have the standings for the Dominion?
I think JR has one loss and tie-breaker due to head-to head on Cosby, so it's still # 1 pending their rematch at Cosby in a few weeks.
Cosby would be # 2 for now.
But I don't know how things stack up after that.

That wasn't the only reason for the change. The other reason was to favor the top 2 teams more in the tournament. With their byes, they end up using their # 1 arms against teams who likely have already spent their # 1's just to win in the quarterfinals. This increases the odds that the regional berths will go to the regular season 1 & 2 teams tremendously, by reducing the odds of a district tournament upset.
Back when only 4 made it to the tourney, the #2 team could easily get knocked out by the # 3 team in the opening (semifinal) round. You don't/won't see that as often any more.

Note that barring any upsets, that last regular season game with James River at Cosby shapes up to determine the regular season champ and the automatic regional berth that goes with it. Whoever wins likely will have only 1 loss while the loser will have 2 losses.
