I recently did some research on the Mike Epstein hitting system and it seemed like it would be very effective. However, when I asked my local intstructor about it, he informed me that it cost almost $600. Is it worth the money?
Is there an alternative in which I could learn the same techniques at a lower price?

Feedback is appreciated

I'm with Gomo....where did the $600 come from? You can buy one DVD or a package. Watching the recent HR derby the common denomintor was the ability to turn / " rotate" into the ball. Mike works almost exclusively on this process and gives great explanations of how and why.

I sent one to a 10th grader on my sons team two years ago who was at about .180. He did the drills and lead the team as a junior .380

Don't waste valuable practice time and a full year playing without learning all you can...you will regret it.
My impression from having reviewed the tapes is that Epstein puts forth a pretty good system but that it would be very easy for a young man to develop bad habits trying to learn from just looking at the tapes.

If you are serious about going with that system then I'd say go ahead and spend your parents money on the in person lessons. I'd also recommend only going to Mike himself or possibly his son as I'd be concerned about the teaching ability of the certified instructors. JMO.
