Hey all,

I wanted to see if anyone knew much about Dr. Mike Marshall. A good friend of mine is seeing him now and Mr. Marshall is teaching a brand new way to throw a baseball. My friend has been told he will be throwing 100 pitches every day at over 100mph with 8 different pitches. It's pretty hard to believe and I haven't seen it with my own eyes but has anyone have info on this guy?

Wow. 100 pitches a day! 100 MPH! 8 different pitches! If Kerry Wood, who throws mid-90's fastball, curve, slider and change-4 pitches, started every game, and threw 100 pitches each game, wouldn't he be having surgery by the end of the week? Baseball's been around for a while, don't you think that every way to throw a baseball has been developed? I'm curious to know what this "brand new way to throw a baseball" is!
What's the saying about if something sounds too good to be true??

Loved the bolded part:

b. Coaching

Dr. Marshall charges ten dollars ($10.00) per day for coaching. On their arrival, fifty-week and forty-week partners pay two thousand eight hundred dollars ($2,800.00) for coaching and two hundred and eighty-nine dollars ($289.00) for equipment. On their arrival, eight-week partners pay five hundred and sixty dollars ($560.00) for coaching and one hundred and forty-four dollars ($144.00) for equipment.

Thereafter, for as long as college and recent high school graduates pitch college baseball, they can train for free. If they get an opportunity to pitch professionally, they pay Dr. Marshall five percent of their professional baseball-related income in excess of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per month. If partners desire, Dr. Marshall will represent them for only approved expenses.
Geez, what are you gonna say when you go to a camp and the scout asks you what pitches you throw? "4-seam torque maxline fastball, 4-seam maxline pronation curve, 2-seam torque sinker, and 2-seam maxline pronation screwball".

Ted Williams book was called The Science of Hitting, not the Rocket Science of Hitting. I like batspeed.com better because it has explainable science-not rocket science- and a discussion board.
