I broke mine in college and was cast for almost 8 weeks. I've heard 6-8.

But a player on another LL team suffered this last night and rumor has it he'll only miss 4 weeks???

How very coincidental that in 4 weeks our season will still be going and therefore his manager is not required to replace him from the Minors, whereas if it were 6+ weeks, he would. AND further coincidence that his team's currently 1 game ahead in first place?

Hmmm....

Thanks cong.

As you may recall, I'm all too familiar w/ that procedure, as my son broke the growth plate in his throwing elbow and partially tore his MCL in the same early last season.

I may be way off here but I can't imagine a kid coming back from a broken wrist (even if he does get the cast off in 4 weeks), and immediately returning to play w/ no physical therapy or rehab?

In my opinion, in all likelihood, this player won't return because (a) he TOLD my son he was done for the season and (b) his manager told another manager that he didn't expect him back til mid-July, and was hoping we were still in the All-Star tourney (as this kid is the starting catcher). Yet... when I asked him how long he'd be out, he told me "4 weeks". Hmmm... could the fact that we're only 1 game behind him in the standings be a factor in this inconsistent story???

My son is 14 now - turning 15 at the end of the year. The first time he broke his wrist was at 12. Luckily the cast came off the week before we left for Cooperstown All Star Village. The doc gave him the "all clear" and he was able to play with no restrictions. The team wound up winning that tournament that week. We were thankful he was able to participate and be a part of that tournament. Second time was last fall at 13. Same deal, 6 weeks and once the cast was off no restrictions. Luckily fall ball was done for us.
