Hey Everyone.  Bumping this thread from the graveyard.  My son is thinking of playing for a team in the MINK League.  He had a roster spot in the Northwoods (Temp and 2nd half) but that evaporated last week with the whole COVID-19 impact on the college season.  So he is now left scrambling to find a spot.  Tough for him as he is a junior LHP playing for a D3 HA school.  Last summer he played in the WCL.

So two things:  1) If anyone has any updated experience with the MINK -- that'd be great.  Everything I am reading is a bit dated.  2) If anyone know of any teams in a good league looking for a big strong LHP - please PM me for details.

Thanks

MAM, I wouldn't worry.  A LHP with college experience is like gold to most summer league organizations, particularly one who had an invite to Northwoods or the Cape.  If he is flexible, he will have ample opportunities, provided summer league ball even happens.  That is the bigger question.  That and the whole host family issue (with Covid-19 concerns).

Yes, there is likely to be a dropdown scenario for the few top leagues but he still holds a pretty nice chip.  Worst case, he waits until the season is about half way over when guys start hitting innings limits, achy arms, poor performance, etc.

If you are looking for immediate direction here, you may want to include some of his college numbers.
