Report in isn't until 30 August so will just start with a few items:

1. Athletic director has agreed to a roster of 37 vs 32/35 discussed previously

2. They look like they are going hard to the transfer portal and picking up several folks that passed on them in previous years but played well .

3. I am less than pleased to hear a bullet went thru the weight room window.

4. I am hearing that the team does not get every pitch sent in by a coach, but catcher calls most. We will see.

5. Still no roommate after Alec Willis was drafted to Cards.

6. Not sure I am completely up to date but looks like the 37 is 1 Utility, 15 RHP, 6 LHP, 3 catchers, 7 INF, 5 OF.

7. Hard to be sure of these with covid years but looks to be 2 5th year guys, 3 Seniors, 13 Juniors, 9 Sophs, and 10 Freshmen.

8. Several transfers in: Will Semb from IOWA, Joe Hauser from Arizona ST, Richie Holetz from Nebraska Omaha, and Aiden Maldonado from Illinois.

9. After last years debacle, loading up on pitchers.

Couple of weeks until the fun starts again.

Also luck to James Wood and Ian Moller( 1st pro hit is a dbl!)

So far so good. Batting .350 (7 hits in six games) with a double and 4 steals. Temperature at 6pm when the games start has been 105-112 degrees. When he was 14 he played with their first round pick for a year so they are rooming together. Tonight he plays against a kid who was on the older version of the local youth team he played with for 7 years (the Olney Pirates). The fall when James's team was 13U (he was 12), they would play in the U18 rec league and every once in a while the older guys would come play with them (the head coach coached both teams until after the older team won Cooperstown--he had a son on both teams). Randy was their idol so it's kinda fun that they will be playing each other (both in center field).
