I am so mad at myself. My son had a scrimmage game yesterday and I decided at the last minute to go to my daughter's away game because he had to scrimmage with the varsity - I was sure he wouldn't see the field. What happens, of course? He was put in to pinch run, stole second and scored from second on a bloop hit to left center. His first HS and varsity appearance - and I missed it. Oh well, it was the first game of my daughters senior season - I would have felt better if she had won, but they lost 8-6.

You made the right decision going to your daughter's opener instead of a scrimmage. You'll be able to see them both play.

I remember two years ago missing my son's varsity debut because I was coaching. He had a no-hitter going into the 7th and finished with a 1-hit shutout against the team that won the state championship that year and again in 2003.

I also have a daughter that plays, so picking and choosing which one to see will always be a dilemma for you and me. the each can give us thrills!!

Enjoy every minute of the season!!
