My son received a call this week from the recruiting coordinator at Mizzou. What insight can you provide on their baseball program, the coaching staff, their ability to develop pitchers, their record for having pitchers drafted and any other information you can provide will be greatly appreciated?

They were very personable, and my son had great things to say when he visited.
Shuttle -- we found a great fit for our son at Mizzou. They would score high marks in the areas you mention in your original post. Their pitching has been very strong recently and will continue to be a force in 2007. At present, BA ranks one of their pitchers as the potential #1 pick in the MLB draft and another of their arms had a lot of success at the Cape this past summer. The school's APR is 2nd in the Big 12. The campus and facilities are outstanding. They have plans to improve their baseball field, but it looked pretty good already. PM me if it would help. If you are who I think you are, Coach V mentioned interest in your son.
My son recently committed to play for Mizzou. He is an outfielder, but we have been told about the progress that two of their top pitchers have made since arriving on campus at Mizzou. We really were impressed by the coaching staff, facilities and players. We are from Texas as well. I would be happy to talk more if you want to PM me.
Although my son did not end up going there, I was VERY impressed with everything we saw. We went to their Winter Camp (3 days?) and although there were alot of kids there it was one of the better run camps we attended. They were busy all the time! You will get a feel for the coaches and get to meet lots of players.

I might add, if you watch pitch counts during the season you will see they keep a pretty good handle on that compared to most. They have put a lot of pitchers into pro ball, probably only a matter of time before one of them makes it big.

You have a PM!
