Would an assistant coach have a shot at making the MLB Hall of Fame based on his coaching career?

The person I'm thinking of is Leo Mazzone the Braves pitching coach.
To our military men, women and families - You are all awesome - that flag is yours and I thank you for the opportunity for giving me the honor of removing my cap prior to every baseball game I see.

One HOF life-time achievement award should be given to persons other than the, Head Coaches , Broadcasters and Owners for exemplifying an outstanding contribution to the values and traditions of the game.

My vote: Dick "Rowdy Richard" Bartell. Great shortstop should be in the Hall of Fame. Had 7 seasons batting over .300. Played in 3 World Series and had 2165 hits over 18 years. Managed the Sacramento Solons in 1947.
