Lakeland 1 Indian River 3, Kevin Howerin pitched 6 2/3 1 hit game. Cody Taduran went 2-3 at the plate.

Cory Inman gets win to go 6-0 in SE Dist. play and 7-0 overall with wins over GB, IR, WB, DC, NR(2) and Landsdown on spring break. Cory had a fractured back last year and missed the whole season but has made an amazing comeback. POY?

The Falcons seemed intent on giving away outs on the basepaths, but hit the ball well enough to overcome 3 runs for the Dolphins in the 4th inning. Anyone at the game caught a glympse of why I think Kyle Profilet is the best defensive CF in the district. Great running catch near the fence in RC and doubled off the baserunner at 2b to end the game. Ryan Mattes pitched 6 strong innings for his 6th win on the year.

Princess anne 5 Tallwood 0
Taylor Topping struck out 7 in 5 innings but Tallwood was not able to capitalize on scoring situations and fell to Princess Anne 5-0. Vandin Patel went 2 for 4 and posted an RBI and smart base running. Ross Cardwell hit a double (no RBI netted as posted in Va Pilot) but was HBP in the 4th which brought home a run on bases loaded. Tyler Pitt LD'd to SS which resulted in a fielding error bringing in two more runs. Chase LeMaster hit a long ball single resulting in an RBI. Zach Smith and John Matos had key hits in the fourth to load up the bases.

The Paper messed up today by saying Indian River can clinch distric by tommorrow if they beat Lakeland and Western Branch.They just needed to beat Lakeland and Western Branch.

IR - when do you play Hickory? I thought that game was rained out last week?
Hickory is a regualry scheduled game tommorrow.Western Branch is a makeup game.
