Didn't feel like starting a new thread!
PenSouth Tournament is finally getting under way after some shenanifoolery.
Menchville gets the No. 1 seed and an auto berth to the Regional.
Otherwise:
No. 2 Nansemond River vs. No. 7 Hampton
No. 3 Gloucestor vs. No. 6 Bethel
No. 4 Warwick vs. No. 5 Kecoughtan
Tournament finally gets underway today, with the Championship on SATURDAY!!!!! What the crap? A bunch of lugnuts running things over there.
Yeah.....that's poor planning. What about regionals? How will that schedule go with Monday being a holiday? And also....when are all-conference teams released?

Don't take this as the gospel, but it is my understanding that Regionals begin Monday. (Most years the first Regional game is on Memorial Day)
Monday/Wednesday/Friday
NR over Hampton 15-1 in five innings. Wholesale substitutions beginning in the 3rd inning. A very complete effort against a team that NR played poorly against previously, when they beat Hampton only 3-0. Last four games NR has outscored their opponents 46-5. Intensity has been up as well. Perhaps they're starting to get things figured out a little bit.
All conference teams for Monitor Merrimac should be released sometime today or tomorrow
Gloucestor defeats Bethel 3-2 and will play Nansemond River in the semi-finals on Thursday. Menchville will play the winner of Warwick/Bethel. If Bethel beats Warwick in the early game, they will have to play two games today, which would mark their 4th game in 3 days.
Warwick plays Kecoughtan. Nansemond River beat gloucester 3-0.
GF 6 WB 1.

Stallings was LIGHTS OUT. Impressive.
Nansemond River will play Menchville in the PenSouth final on Saturday. Both have earned regional berths.
NR over Menchville 5-1 to win the PenSouth Tournament. NR pitching gave up a combined 9 hits in three games and have now outscored their opponents 54-6 in their last 6 games.
