Sophomore first baseman Evan Jones of Trinity led the Tigers to a 6-1 record last week, including a 3-1 SCAC series win over Southwestern. Jones hit .500 (14-28) during the seven games, scoring eight runs and collecting 14 RBI. He cracked six doubles and a home run, totaling 23 bases for a slugging percentage of .821 for the week. Against Southwestern, Jones drove in six runs to lead the Tigers to their second SCAC series win of the year, and a tie for first place in the SCAC West Division. For the season, Jones leads Trinity with a .436 batting average, nabbing 41 hits in 94 at-bats. He is tied for the team lead with 31 runs and has also driven in 42 more, which is more than double the next-highest Tiger player’s RBI total. Jones also leads the team in doubles (13), triples (3), and home runs (5), as well as slugging percentage (.798) and on-base percentage (.509).
