Pomona also had a position player go in the 9th round, Tanner Nishioka. And speaking of D3 non-pitchers, an MIT SS, Austin Filiere went in the 8th. Pretty special kids. Gammons wrote about the latter in the fall, said he will wind up in a front office. Looks like he will detour to play some more ball.

"...he will get drafted and sign, and he can then go back to MIT when short season ball ends on Labor Day. He will graduate before Christmas and enter a full-time career in professional baseball player by the first of January, 2018."
