The program has a long, long way to go. Hopefully, the new staff takes it to where it could be. A coach from Eastern KY University told me that Morehead's problem was that they were not fully funded; and to make it worse 1 full scholarship was required to be given to a player from Kentucky. That sounds good, but it certainly limits your options on depth. Also, the facilities are way behind for a D1 program. It is not a good field, right field is not true at all. Not sure on exact dimensions but it is not fair for pitchers to face left handed hitters and have no real shot at being effective. I have heard it said that pitchers "start out" with a 6.00 era when they arrive on campus (meaning that 6.00 is the best a pitcher can do there given the field). But it is a nice school in a very rural environment. I am personally hoping the new staff can change things.
