I have been wanting to ask this for some time. What state/cities do you think has the best high school coaches and program? What make them the best to you? I think I like the coach that my son will have next year but he been here for 25 years. I wonder if he has become complacent or had he done that good of a job. This year they went 10/11 National ranked 267. I say that as most or you all live like Florida, Georgia, Virginia, or somewhere else besides Arkansas. I am not too sure there is anyone from Arkansas on this web site but there may be. Now I never was around HS baseball as I was rodeo back then. In 2009 we quit a travel ball team because there was no fundamentals being teach as the kids just coming out and playing grab butt and playing. 2010 we went to a team that had a lot of league type ball players, I say that as them not knowing how to catch reteam fly balls as well as stop ball in field. I think the like of coaching on someone part. We left after a dad blesses his son out in the dugout and the coach never said anything to boy or dad. I would not talk to my dog that way. The coach said he would not have done that if the boy’s mom were there. Now we are on a team there the coach is a top notch guy has been a college coach for ten years, and seems to know how to run a team so far. We went 21-5, won state and 5th in global worlds this year. Now he is not the HS coach, he is our travel team/showcase coach. Should this be the type of SH coach you should be looking for in a coach to take your kid to the next level of play.

There are fine HS coaches all over the country, and IMO you will not find a concentration of good coaches in any particular part of the country. You are also misguided if you think a HS coach will take you to the next level. Sadly there are few really good ones, many are just teachers who have the time available and have the ability to be on the field at 3PM each day.

My advice is to get good individual coaching for skill development, work hard on your own, get on a quality travel team with solid coach who puts his team in the right events, and most of all have fun and don’t stress about it too much. By all means enjoy HS ball and all that it offers, but it is a short season and a HS coach has a lot going on so don’t expect too much.

I understand what you'll are saying and I'm all far have fun. I just I not to sure how to ask my qustion. We have 4 HS that my son could go too and trying to figer out witch would be the best for him to go to. Maybe I am asking what should one look for in a HS coach?

I would strongly suggest you research the test scores of these four high schools.
