I have seen a few threads with the teams to beat, and it is exactly what most would guess..(Mansfield, Rowlett, Rockwall, Flowermound, Allen, etc.) These programs seem to be getting the kids, but what about the others? The ones that no longer get the top select kids.. What programs out there do the most with the least?
My vote would go to Lake Highlands or Duncanville.. They both still seem to be there every year, but definitely not the same athletes they had ten years ago...

LH -- perhaps -- Duncanville -- no. I understand their baseball numbers are drastically reduced -- to the point where it is a challenge to field the younger teams. In theory, select baseball and the ongoing success of the traditional HS powerhouses should not be related -- except possibly in the case of a few of the private schools, where rosters may change dramatically from season to season.

LH has a good coach and seems to be able to attact kids with good work ethics. I think they will continue to be a playoff contender, despite playing in a pretty decent baseball district.

A number of districts will be impacted by growth in the next few years...McKinney, Frisco, Rockwall, etc.

In theory, that might be true, but families will move to get their kids in the right situation.. Look at Rockwall last year, (Lefty from Royce City, SS from Dallas, and other lefty from Mississippi.) The kids don't have to be transfers. The Allens, Rowletts, Coppells, and Flower Mounds of the world have families of 10 year olds moving there for baseball... Most of these kids are select kids, and many play together... That is why I would like to recognize teams like Lake Highland, Mesquite, and Duncanville, that will fight tooth and nail with kids you have never heard of.
