Congratulations to all the parents who will be moving their sons in to their first college baseball career. My son was a catcher all the way through, and is doing his Masters in Coaching at Concordia - Irvine, second year. The college ball ride was rough at first with injuries for him, but ended with a super finish. He is an assistant coach while working on his masters, and really loves the people he works with and the place he is at. He is involved with the Eagle Baseball Club (EBC) in Orange County, CA and looks forward to helping players develop to play for their high school teams and potentially for college.

It has been a wonderful experience for our family, but by no means an easy one. "It's the hard that makes it great".

Thanks to all my friends at hsbaseball web - Observer44, Krakatoa, CaBB and others who walked through this with us.

I haven't been to this site for a long time, and it is fun to see that some folks are still here and contributing. And lots of new folks are here learning, like we did.

I have a freshmen who hopes to make the high school team this season as a catcher. He has been catching since about 11yrs old, now 14. Playing year-round ball. I love it for him but hate it at the same time. Congrats to your son!  I know I will be on this site many times for years to come. Already facing the question of resting him for the next few months or continuing on with travel which I will be posting for opinions soon. Thanks for sharing.
